After obtaining Kinji Hakari's location from Master Tengen at the Tombs of the Star, Yuji and Megumi discover that Hakari is operating as a bookie for an underground fight club in an abandoned parking garage in Tochigi Prefecture. However, when Yuji and Megumi try to enter the fight club, they are denied access by the security at the entrance. This fight club illegally pits sorcerers against each other in hand-to-hand combat, with mostly non-sorcerer spectators, thus violating jujutsu regulations regarding secrecy. Tengen warns the boys about the potential presence of curse users among the fighters and advises them to be cautious. To proceed further, Yuji and Megumi decide to disguise themselves by removing their Jujutsu High uniforms. Megumi explains to Yuji that Hakari is currently suspended from Jujutsu High and may not want to associate with them if he realizes they are also students from the school. Despite their uncertain allegiance to Hakari, Yuji and Megumi understand that they need his strength for the upcoming Culling Game and are determined to recruit him. Their journey from Tokyo to Tochigi took time due to limited transportation and the necessity to exorcise cursed spirits along the way. Meanwhile, Hakari expresses his boredom and confidently predicts Panda's victory while watching the fights from the monitoring room. However, he starts to take notice of Yuji's fight when his associate draws his attention to the unexpected turn of events. Within the fight club, Yuji and Panda put on a captivating performance that engages the spectators. They exchange information discreetly while displaying coordinated moves. Despite the scripted nature of the fights, they manage to impress everyone, including the announcer. Yuji's skills and adaptability surprise Hakari, who decides to bring Yuji to his office to discuss future fights and scriptwriting. Meanwhile, Megumi uses his cursed technique to remain hidden and eavesdrop on Hakari's conversation through the shadow of the man on the phone. He navigates through the fight club undetected, listening to their discussions about Yuji and secretly gathering information. The associate mentions Megumi as being another person of interest, and Hakari assigns Kirara to keep an eye on him. As they continue their conversation, tensions rise between Hakari and Kirara, leading to a mention of Hakari's past involving an ex-girlfriend and financial issues.
