In the past, Masamichi Yaga was interrogated by Gakuganji on behalf of the higher-ups while confined with talisman-bound hands. Cursed corpses normally consume their user's cursed energy, but Panda was a self-sustaining anomaly generating his own - feared to allow Masamichi to create an army. Gakuganji stated Masamichi nearly faced special grade designation with indefinite restraint before asking how Panda was made, but Masamichi professed ignorance. Currently in hiding alongside his doll creations, one called out to the gloomy Masamichi, claiming the others hoped to cheer him. Assured by Tengen's forest protection and his mother's future visits, Masamichi revealed his imminent departure while greeting his harmless independent corpse residents who would miss him. Simultaneously, the captured Panda was freed by Kusakabe at Jujutsu High as bait to lure Masamichi, repaying a debt - Masamichi had secretly created an independent cursed corpse mimicking Kusakabe's late nephew to console his despondent sister. In the present, a scarred, masked higher-up underling confronted the corpse-less Masamichi, issuing an ultimatum: reveal the means to create independent curses or face death. Masamichi defied them, reminiscing about their boldness without Gojo's presence. Cued, Gakuganji ambushed Masamichi, fatally wounding him. As life faded, Masamichi divulged the technique: replicate souls from physical information into three highly compatible cores, constantly observing each other to stabilize self-awareness and self-sustaining cursed energy. Gakuganji questioned the reveal's timing as Panda frantically neared. Masamichi declared it a "curse" upon Gakuganji before perishing as Panda arrived. Ignoring Gakuganji, the grieving Panda simply mourned beside his father's corpse, shedding tears Gakuganji was told to remember, being bound by inhuman constraints unlike revenge. A moth's death circling the streetlamp symbolized the danger of ambition's blinding light.
