The alarm bell rang through the Zenin estate as Ranta informed Jinichi and Naoya that Maki had killed Ogi. Surprised by Ogi's defeat, Captain Nobuaki dispatched the Kukuru Unit - non-cursed technique Zenin men rigorously trained in hand-to-hand combat - to swiftly apprehend the underestimated Maki. In the dojo, Maki stood alone with Dragon-Bone and Mai's Split Soul Katana, wondering if renouncing jujutsu alongside Mai would have been wiser before recalling her dying wish: "Destroy everything." As the Kukuru Unit attacked, Maki avoided a katana slash, severing the man's hands before brutally massacring the rest despite their numbers, leaving Nobuaki horrified to find his men's mutilated corpses. Suddenly, Chojuro Zenin's giant stone hands attempted to crush Maki, revealed as the Hei - the clan's strongest cursed technique users - joining the fray. Maki broke free, killing Nobuaki and Chojuro by ramming her hands down their throats. Ranta paralyzed Maki for Jinichi to finish her, but she forcibly broke his technique, grievously injuring Ranta's eyes. Warning Maki would raze the clan like Toji if not stopped, Ranta urged Jinichi onwards before succumbing to his wounds. Jinichi's barrage of giant cursed fists devastated the area, assumed to have killed Maki. However, she emerged unscathed, decapitating Jinichi and discarding his severed head into the pond emotionlessly. Across the bridge, Naoya, amused yet calling her cruel, asked if the remorseless Maki possessed a human heart. Her solemn reply: "No...it was taken from me."
